Tamales!

My mom drove up this weekend to teach me how to make her tamales. She does nearly everything from scratch so it’s several hours of work that is best spread over two days. While learning how to make the tamales was fun, I also enjoyed hearing where her recipe came from (my dad’s mom’s neighbor).

We’d talked about her teaching me the recipe for years. There never seemed to be a good time to do it so I’m glad we finally figured it out.
